“Do this, don’t do that”. Is this what the life of a believer is all about? Is this why we read the Scripture? Is God squeezing us tight in between rewards and punishments? Is this what it means to rejoice in the Lord? The letter to the Thessalonians touches on these questions and bring out the core tenet of living a life rescued by God.

Think about a time that you had a mentor, coach, or teacher who was absent for a long period of time. While they were away, did you continue to work, practice, or study? When they returned, were they satisfied by how you conducted yourself in their absence?
Paul found himself far away from Thessalonica, but in his concern for them sent Timothy to check in on them. And to his great satisfaction, the report was that the church was Standing Firm in the Lord.
This week in 1 Thessalonians 2:17-3:5, we’ll discover the crown jewel of God’s kingdom! By following Paul’s example of ‘Concern for the Cause’, we too can know the relational heart of the Kingdom!
